As Congress continues to debate legislation to expand Internet Sales Tax collection, a number of think tanks involved in tax policy have raised questions with proposals to require out-of-state retailers to collect sales taxes.

Yesterday afternoon, the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee convened a hearing to discuss whether states have the authority to impose new sales tax collection burdens on Internet-enabled retailers.

This afternoon, Steve DelBianco with NetChoice, is testifying before the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee on the potential negative impacts to online retailers if the current Internet sales tax proposal before the U.S. Senate were enacted into law.
